From the graceful movements of contemporary ballet and symphonic music to media arts and vibrant music festivals, "Korea Season 2026" promises a year of exciting cultural exchange between Vietnam and Korea. More than just a large-scale arts event, the program is also expected to become a new symbol of the deep cultural connection between the two countries in this new phase of cooperation.
OPENING CEREMONY OF “KOREA SEASON 2026” - A GATEWAY TO ENCOUNTER KOREAN CULTURE AND ARTS IN VIETNAM
According to the organizers, the highlights of “Korea Season 2026” will span the year with a variety of artistic styles. It will begin with the contemporary ballet “GAT” in May. This will be followed by the K-Live Music Festival in October featuring Vietnamese and Korean bands; the SM Classics Live concert with the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra in November; and a media art exhibition inspired by traditional Korean materials in December.

The series of events aims not only to engage the community of Korean culture enthusiasts in Vietnam but also hopes to attract artists, cultural leaders, diplomatic agencies, and a large number of young people – those who are contributing to the strong wave of cultural exchange between the two countries.
Opening the "Korean Season 2026" is the contemporary ballet performance "GAT," which took place on the evening of May 27th at the Ho Guom Theatre – an art space that is becoming a new cultural meeting point in Hanoi.
Inspired by the "gat"—a traditional Korean headdress—the work is a unique blend of Eastern aesthetics and the body language of contemporary Western ballet. Instead of simply recreating traditional costumes through conventional performance, "GAT" transforms cultural symbols into emotionally rich theatrical movements.
Culture: Bridging the Vietnamese-Korean Community
After more than three decades of establishing diplomatic relations, Vietnam and South Korea have built a deep and broad cooperative relationship in many fields, from economics, education, and tourism to popular culture. The spread of K-pop, Korean cinema, cuisine, and fashion in Vietnam has created a large public base for cultural exchange activities.

Ms. Park Chan A, Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam, shared that 2026 also marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam. Therefore, this series of programs is prepared as a special gift for the Vietnamese public.
Within the context of regional cultural cooperation, "Korea Season 2026" is not only a series of artistic performances but also opens up a journey of encounter, dialogue, and sharing between people.
