Beyond Trang An - Tam Coc or Mua Cave, Ninh Binh also captivates visitors with the poetic natural scenery of Van Long Lagoon.

Located about 80km from Hanoi, Van Long Lagoon (Gia Van commune, Gia Vien district, Ninh Binh province) covers an area of about 3,500 hectares and is the largest wetland nature reserve in the Northern Delta. This area boasts high biodiversity with 457 species of higher plants and 39 species of animals (including 12 rare species).
Sitting on small boats floating on the water, visitors will admire the vibrant and interesting natural scenery and feel the peace of the pristine and majestic landscape.
Beyond its unspoiled beauty of mountains, rivers, and mysterious caves, Van Long Lagoon is also a spiritual tourism destination with many temples and pagodas steeped in history. At different times of the year, Van Long Lagoon changes its colors, possessing a unique and captivating beauty that visitors can explore.

Especially in the summer, this is the lotus blooming season, with lotus flowers blooming profusely, adding a touch of pink to the cool, green waters.
Besides Van Long Lagoon, visitors to Ninh Binh can explore many other famous places such as: Trang An, Tam Coc - Bich Dong, Bai Dinh Pagoda complex, Hoa Lu Ancient Capital, etc.
Van Long Lagoon was featured in key scenes of the blockbuster film Kong - Skull Island.
Visiting Ninh Binh in the summer, you'll find the landscape covered in golden rice fields, interspersed with the green of the mountains and forests. Visitors can take a boat ride to admire the scenery or simply cycle along the roads, which will be an unforgettable experience.
